Age relaxation calculate करना simple 3-step process है। Exam notification से upper age limit लें, category relaxation add करें और check करें कि आपकी actual age उससे कम है या नहीं।
Step 1: Exam Notification में Upper Age Limit देखें
हर exam का notification PDF download करें। Age limit section में General category की upper age limit note करें। उदाहरण: SSC CHSL में General upper age = 27 साल।
Step 2: अपनी Category की Relaxation Add करें
General upper age limit में अपनी category की relaxation add करें। OBC candidate: 27 + 3 = 30 साल। SC/ST candidate: 27 + 5 = 32 साल। PwD General: 27 + 10 = 37 साल। PwD + OBC: 27 + 13 = 40 साल।
Step 3: अपनी Actual Age से Compare करें

SC और ST Candidates: 5 साल की Relaxation
Scheduled Caste और Scheduled Tribe candidates को सभी central government exams में 5 साल की upper age relaxation मिलती है। UPSC CSE में SC/ST को 37 साल तक unlimited attempts मिलते हैं।
- Caste Certificate District Magistrate, SDM या Tehsildar से issued होनी चाहिए।
- Certificate में caste name और state का clear mention हो।
- Married women के लिए father की caste पर based certificate valid है।
- OBC वाला state certificate central exams में नहीं चलता। Central list में OBC होना जरूरी है।
OBC Non-Creamy Layer: 3 साल और NCL Certificate की Validity
OBC candidates को 3 साल की relaxation सिर्फ Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate होने पर मिलती है। OBC Creamy Layer यानी annual family income Rs 8 lakh से ज्यादा होने पर General category माना जाता है।
- NCL Certificate की Validity: अधिकतर central exams में current financial year की OBC-NCL certificate चाहिए। Expired certificate से age relaxation नहीं मिलती। हर exam application से पहले fresh certificate बनवाएं।
- Issuing Authority: Tehsildar, SDM या District Magistrate। Central List में OBC होना जरूरी है। State list का OBC Central exams में valid नहीं होता।
- Creamy Layer Cut-off: Annual family income Rs 8 lakh से कम होने पर NCL status मिलती है। Constitutional posts, Class I/II Officers के children Creamy Layer में आते हैं।
PwD Candidates: 10 साल और Cumulative Benefit
Persons with Disabilities (PwD) को 10 साल की relaxation मिलती है और यह SC/ST या OBC relaxation के साथ cumulative होती है।

Women और Widows को Age Relaxation: पूरी जानकारी
Central government standard exams में सिर्फ married/widowed women को age relaxation मिलती है, general women category को नहीं। लेकिन state police और defence forces में महिलाओं को अलग rules मिलती हैं।

Common Misconceptions जो Apply करने से रोकती हैं
- “OBC certificate एक बार बना लो, हमेशा चलेगी”: गलत है। Central exams में current financial year की OBC-NCL certificate चाहिए। हर application से पहले fresh certificate लें।
- “General women को age relaxation नहीं मिलती”: Central government में सही है। लेकिन state police exams में कई states women को 3 से 5 साल extra देती हैं। State exam notification जरूर check करें।
